There was an email that circulated a while ago that had the following images. In hopes to share a smile this beautiful day, and to show we shouldn't take ourselves too seriously, I proudly present ... the Dueling Churches:
I am who and what God made me to be, no more, no less. I am a Christian in that I follow Christ and His teachings, not any particular flavor of Christianity. I've also learned much of and from other religions around the world and enjoy discussing any of them. I'm an open, friendly person who gets along with any type of person and welcome anyone to converse with me on any subject. Everyone brings with them something I can learn no matter their ability, background, education, income, intellect, lifestyle, nationality, position, religious beliefs, or any other lines with which humanity tends to divide itself. The world is filled with wondrous variety and I strive to find the Light and Love that exists in each and every person.
'Twas noontide of summer, And mid-time of night; And stars, in their orbits, Shone pale, through the light Of the brighter, cold moon, 'Mid planets her slaves, Herself in the Heavens, Her beams on the waves. I gazed awhile On her cold smile; Too cold -- too cold for me -- There pass'd, as a shroud, A fleecy cloud, And I turned away to thee, Proud Evening Star, In thy glory afar, And dearer thy beam shall be; For joy to my heart Is the proud part Thou bearest in Heaven at night, And more I admire Thy distant fire, Than that colder, lowly light. -Edgar Allan Poe
